Faye Whittemore Farms Pumpkin Patch and Trail Rides

Description: We are a working family farm with a flair for agritourism. We host all types of activities: The Pumpkin Patch is held annually in the month of October. We offer a wide variety of activities from fishing with a cane pole in a stocked catfish pond, haymaze, face painting, story time tent. We have a large variety of inflatables, 24 foot slide, moonwalk and obstacle course, petting zoo , hayride to pumpkin patch in a 30 foot cottonwagon. On weekends we offer pony and wagon rides. You can make reservations for a class, Sunday school or family field trip. The concessions barn will be open with chicken fingers, fries, hotdogs ,nachos and for the weekends Pintos, cornbread and onion slices. Bring your chairs and watch kids of all ages have a great time at the pumpkin patch. During the rest of the year we are open for Horseback riding, We have 35 miles of beautiful trails. 75 campsites with water and electricity. Large Bathhouse. Paddocks, Stalls and Picketing allowed. If you would like to book a camping trip please call and make reservations.

Tate Farms Cotton Pickin' Pumpkins

Description: Tate Farms is a hands-on farm learning experience for private groups such as daycares, public and private school groups, and home-schooled groups. Each year our tour features an agricultural learning experience about one of the crops we grow: Pumpkins, Cotton, Wheat, Soybeans, Corn, Honey Bees. We feature PRIVATE guided tours M-F from 9-2, for those with advance reservations. M-F 2-6, and Saturday 9-6 we are open to the public, no reservations required. We are closed on Sundays. We grow our own products, No baiting our fields! We grow a wide variety of pumpkins, including but not limited to the following: White (Caspar, Baby Boo), Green (Jharadelle), Buff (Long Island Cheese) and the typical bright orange jack-o-lanterns. We grow our pumpkins from palm size to Large Atlantic Dill's. We sell corn shocks, gourds (large and small), mums and wheat straw. We have a Country store featuring a huge variety of decorative items, both Halloween and Fall, food items, decorative gift items, John Deere and Agriculture related items. Stroll through an acre of thousands of sunflowers. Teachers may select our traditional tour which includes hay ride to pumpkin field, pumpkin, corn crib, hay maze, hands-on and educational activity, and a visit to the animals. Our afternoon and Saturdays include a 1 acre Sunflower Trail, corn themed barrel train ride, animals to pet and play with, Barnyard theme playground and new for 2007 is our Barn with turbo tube slides from the hayloft and another corn crib, cotton jump, gourd gun and our Entertainment Barn with kitchen. We've just completed a new covered pavilion for your dining comfort. We'll have hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken fingers, BBQ sandwiches, smoked turkey legs, pintos and cornbread with a slice of onion, soup of the day and fries just to name a few. We also have slushies, funnel cakes and cotton candy. Try a piece of our homemade pumpkin pie - made fresh daily with Tate Farms pumpkins from our field! View Map
